Commuting and Congestion is a twin problem that threatens our lifestyle and financial future..
People who live in small towns can't understand why anyone would sit in traffic for two hours every day.. And when they read about the almost 'one billion cars' on the worlds roads, they might assume that the world has gone insane..

The commuters of Los Angeles are continually muttering the "insane" word - but actually boast about the number of cars there are in L.A. - and the fact that they have 20 lane freeways!

Theme estates are a new trend in big cities.. (Housing estates where many corporations from the same industry all have their plants, and all their workers gravitate to that estate.)
Those who have had the wonderful opportunity to move to such a theme estate can't believe how great it is to get by with one car! And that car only used once or twice a week!
They are now the proud owners of two bicycles instead of two cars. And, their children walk to school. 'Ozy Farmers Direct' delivers 80% of their groceries directly to the door. (even if it is at 1 am!)

Unfortunately, those estates are rare.. We intend to make them common place..

Most big-city families feel they need to have two vehicles! This is an unsustainable burden on the environment and family finances. The congestion is already unbearable, and this trend is increasing!  Soon, we won't be able to afford to keep building tunnels and freeways.

There is an obvious solution..
* Decentralize.. It is insane for a million workers to try to commute to the one CBD every day. It wastes time, it pollutes the environment, it cuts into the time Fathers can spend with young children, it causes stress and erodes mental efficiency in the workplace.
The eternally growing need for new or wider traffic corridors results in long-term residents being evicted from their homes and the destruction of the value and heritage of large precincts.

* People must be assisted to live close to where they work.
New housing estates will be purpose built for specific industries.
It will be cheaper to provide half-price rent to workers and employers in such an estate than to provide the connecting freeways.

* A new National Housing Estate developer and a National Real Estate agency will provide bridging loans and non-profit sale/purchase conveyancing to allow people to move house every time they are forced to change work location.
Currently, it costs about $15,000 to 'swap' homes and the process takes months. Our non-profit agency will be able to convey a 'swap' within weeks and for under $1500.
