Business Assistance..
Subsidized Business Software.
The VSoft Initiative..
Inadequate software (and high professional fees) severely handicap and limit the profitability of many businesses.
We will provide access to a fully featured, multi-company, multi-user accounting software package. This well established system out-performs many $50,000 systems. It will be available for $100 per year.
The goals..
1. To develop a ‘world-wide' network (Grad-Net) of tens of thousands of Information Technology Graduates who provide low cost support for VSoft to a hundred thousand small businesses.
2. To provide a million ‘Home based' or Limited capital businesses with fully featured software and low priced IT support.
Subsidized workers for Small Business..
We believe the Nation needs ALL its citizens to be involved in our national recovery effort. They ALL need to be engaged in some productive enterprise 20 to 40 hours a week.
Even the unemployed 50-60 year olds can be commissioned as mentors and foremen.
Any government scheme to provide Subsidized workers to businesses is open to manipulation by predatory employers. WalMart style businesses that make massive profits will still pay workers below the poverty line in order to manipulate government benefit schemes!
Most small businesses are genuinely in financial hard times and would benefit greatly from subsidized workers. Our "Employment Ombudsmans Office" will have the accounting talent to certify such businesses.
• Every unemployed person receiving benefits will be required to work 30 hrs per week (about half the hours that many taxpayers work!) Those with skills will do volunteer work with businesses approved by the "Employment Ombudsmans Office"
• Almost every unemployed person under 30 will learn a Trade and work as a free apprentice.
Revitalize Local Manufacturing.
All Nations should be able to cope with a two year denial of imports.
Therefore, all nations (including China) should aim to produce locally at least a third of all the basics of life.
That includes Clothing, Socks, Shoes, Textiles, Paper, Chipboard, Tools, Fuel, Fertilizer, Food processing, Vehicles, Farm Machinery, Steel works, Etc.
For all nations, anything that you cannot live without, should be partly manufactured locally (or stockpiled locally).
Over the last 30 years, we have lost millions of jobs in the Textile, Garment and Auto industries. The mantra that they could all be retrained in more relevant industries was a fiction. Most of these folk never held a fulfilling full-time job again.
A huge proportion of our people are not 'cut-out' for the Technology industries.. They are suited to the fundamental tasks of life. They are suited to the same things people have enjoyed for the last million years - Farming, Gardening, Garments, Woodwork, Foundry, Arts etc. Allowing other countries to take 90% of the only jobs these folk are suited to is a greed driven travesty.
The 33% local production policy will go a long way to correcting this tragedy and re-opening the hundreds of production lines we will need in the next 'denial of supply'. [Read More]
Patent Reform..
Quote from ZDNet.. "The patent system is not just broken, it is poisonous."
There have been many clever innovations that never made it to market because of an absurd and toxic patent system. Bill Gates of Microsoft remarked recently that "If todays patent system had existed when he was innovating - he would never have have been able to innovate anything!"
We intend to start a National Patent Authority in Australia that will be the model for an International Authority..
The role the "International Patent Authority" (IPA)..
• Ensure that the public, who are the ultimate owners of all patents, are never disadvantaged by the granting of any patent.
• Ensure that 'Big Oil' doesn't buy a patent for a new "hydrogen engine" and so prevent any further development of that engine.
• Prevent courts in Texas from granting patents on ancient Chinese remedies - or the human genome.
• Ensure that the granting of a patent to a school boy in Iceland doesn't prevent all the great R&D companies contributing to the innovation. (That 'school-boy' will always receive the lions share of the royalties.)
