The Soft Drugs.. and the War against drugs.
the Soft Drugs - Marijuana etc. - provide just as much revenue to 'drug lords' and 'organized crime' as the hard drugs..
The current 'war against drugs' is a failure.. Almost every anti-drug plan we have tried has been a failure!
* Trying to out-gun the drug lords has been a futile mistake that has cost a trillion dollars and countless innocent lives.
* Trying to outlaw alcohol in Al Capones day was an absolutely stupid and embarrassing idea.
* Legalizing 'pot' and making it a grocery store item would certainly drive the drug lords out of that industry - but is not a solution that would be acceptable to our society.
Our Trillion dollar appetite for drugs is not just funding drug lords, it is funding Terror!
It is funding the "explosive devices" that are killing our young soldiers! It is funding extremist cells that are gathering strength in our midst.
We do need to find a solution.. It will need to be tough, and even radical. - But it must be acceptable to the majority.
We are proposing the following plan and will be calling for a national debate on these ideas..
* For an emergency five year period, Marijuana will be de-criminalized and available thru government programs.
* The weekly consumption for individuals will be restricted via our "Restricted Goods Smart Card" (the 'Subsidized Category Credit Card' - S.C.C.Card) [read more here]
* This "S.C.C.Card" is simply an approved credit card capable of categorizing purchases and imposing dollar limits in selected categories. It will be used to assist those who want help with the following addictions.. Gambling, Alcohol, Soft drugs Etc.
* To purchase Marijuana, you will need to apply for an 'S.C.C.Card' - These outlets will only accept these cards. This card will only allow you to purchase a small amount per week. (Access to Gambling venues will also be restricted to these cards. In this category, the user can set their own spending limits once a month.)
* The farming and processing of Marijuana and hemp will be government controlled. Massive cannabis research projects will be government funded.
* The fines for growing, selling or purchasing Marijuana outside the above provisions will incur 'life-changing' penalties such as 500 hours working in a Salvos 'soup kitchen' or 500 hours at college learning a new trade. With a generous reward scheme for 'bounty hunters' it will simply not be worth the risk to go outside the system.
As mentioned above.. We will be calling for a national debate on these ideas..
