Encouraging Shared Accommodation..

We have thousands of homeless, lonely folk - and thousands of almost empty homes, occupied by one lonely senior citizen.  Some ways of getting them together need to be researched..
We appreciate that senior citizens are often "grumpy old men" who (although lonely) loudly proclaim they want to be alone. However, many great movies depict the wonderful transformation that can occur when a wayward teen adopts and is adopted by a previously 'grumpy old man'.

We will financially encourage Seniors with professional or trade skills to take in weekly groups of unemployed folk who have a talent or desire to learn that particular skill. From these 'workshops', bonds and even lifelong relationships will naturally develop.  The 'grumpy old man' will become an affectionate Grand-Father and mentor.
The same principle also applies to single, senior ladies.
The "Financial Support" provided to these Seniors would involve..
* Upgrading kitchen appliances.
* Converting an existing garage into a workshop.
* Installing a second shower & WC where appropriate.
* A senior Social Worker would be assigned to the 'group' and 'drop in' each week and spend time one on one with all those involved.
* 'Work for the Dole' teams would regularly maintain the property.

As an aid to allowing friends or family to share a small house, we will be contracting the development of 'Ikea style' (flat pack) cubicles that 'transform' from Office with desk to a Sound-proof sleeping compartment.

The Unaffordable explosion of Single Mothers..

Roughly one in five families are managed by a single mother! That represents millions of children who have been abandoned by their Fathers.. Most of these children and their Mother require some financial support from the taxpayer. A large proportion of the total welfare budget goes to single mums.
It is hardly fare that the average taxpayer who does provide for his own children is also asked to provide for the children of "run away dads".. With genetic testing, it is extremely easy to identify these fathers - and they should be required to financially support their own children.

Encouraging welfare recipients to share accomodation..

Currently, many countries penalize two welfare recipients if they share accomodation. They reason that two together can live 15% cheaper than one so they cut the benefit of these 'sharers' by 15%.
This ridiculous scheme requires draconian policing and tedious cross-checking of records! It costs almost as much to police as the amount saved! With the current shortage of affordable accomodation, we will be introducing incentives for people to share - not penalizing those who do.
